Amanda's motto around yoga is, at its essence, "take it off the mat." She firmly believes in yoga as an opportunity to look yourself in the eyes, see who and where you are, and learn something that you can apply – both to your physical and your spiritual/mental experience.
Through meditation, brief philosophy explanations, and a large dose of humor, Amanda’s classes are more than physical exercise. That said, her teachings do have a strong alignment focus, and incorporate breath and introspection; they are designed to develop your ability to work with your unique, individual variances. Her style is slow and deliberate, with a rich attention to detail that will deepen the experience of any student, no matter how long they’ve been practicing.
Amanda trained in Arizona, and has been teaching since 2013; she is a certified E-RYT-200 and RYT-500 with Yoga Alliance. She works extensively with The Yoga Engineer to facilitate anatomy training and understanding in yoga students and teachers, and strives to keep her teachings accessible and somewhat irreverent. She brings a sense of grace, joy, authenticity, and delight to her teaching.
