Amanda's journey into yoga began during her travels, where she found inspiration in B.K.S. Iyengar's Light on Yoga. Captivated by the 8 Limbs of Yoga, she was drawn to explore a practice grounded in philosophy and spirituality. This quest led her to the Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh, India, where she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. In her classes, Amanda integrates mindfulness techniques, mantra, and breathwork to fully immerse students in the present moment.
Kim completed her 200hr Power Vinyasa training in May 2018. Since then, she has taught prenatal yoga, Mommy & Me yoga, yoga sculpt, and outdoor classes. Kim completed her training as a birth doula in March 2022. Kim’s classes focus on strength, balance, connecting the breath to movement, visualization and relaxation techniques. She loves incorporating aromatherapy whenever she can.
Darla completed her 200 hour teacher training at 8 Limbs Yoga in 2013 and her 500 RYT in 2019. She is also trained in iRest Level 1, Insight Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Prenatal Yoga. She teaches restorative, yin, iRest Yoga Nidra, gentle, slow flow, Hatha, Vinyasa, prenatal, postnatal, and Baby & Me Yoga. Her teaching focuses on calming the mind and connecting the breath with movement so that the practice becomes a moving meditation. She believes yoga should be fun and laughter is always welcome.
Joey has been a student of yoga since 2016. She completed her Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training in the fall of 2019 and winter of 2020. Throughout the pandemic, Joey taught virtual and outdoor prenatal yoga. You can expect a more nontraditional approach in Joey's class and a yoga flow that mimics a birth experience. A slow, intentional flow of stretches that builds (early labor) to core engagement, goddess squats (active labor) to build your stamina and strength to prepare for your baby's (or babies’!) birth, followed by savasana (post labor). Joey closes her practice with a celebration for the mamas in class who are in their final weeks of pregnancy.
Colleen has been teaching since 2013, shortly after getting her 200 hour certification from Samadhi Yoga. In 2019, she graduated from Twist Yoga’s 500 hour program. Currently, she is enrolled in Yoga Medicine’s Therapeutic Specialist program and is always excited to learn more!
Christy discovered the practice of yoga in 2009 and has used it ever since as an important emotional and physical release. As a teacher, she strives to hold the space for others to discover this as well. Christy brings her background as a dietitian into the yoga room, with an emphasis on body kindness and empowerment.
Julie was the founder, owner, and the heart and soul of Aditi Yoga and Wellness. She passed away in March of 2023. Suzette has been a yoga practitioner in Seattle for over 20 years. Shaped by her initial training in the Viniyoga tradition, Suzette’s Hatha teaching style takes a more gentle and therapeutic approach. Although she enjoys teaching all levels, her primary love is working with prenatal and postnatal women. Suzette is registered with Yoga Alliance at E-RYT 200, RYT 500 and RPYT 500 level.
Valerie is interested in helping students find body-mind connection through a fun, holistic practice. She has 18 years of teaching experience in various styles of yoga including pre & postnatal. She loves sharing yogic wisdom to support the challenges of the perinatal cycle and early parenthood. Her instruction is culturally competent, trauma-informed and inclusive.
Monique (Moni) McFadden is a mother, yogi, teacher, and artist. She was introduced to yoga by her husband David in 1992. She found herself on the mat more seriously after dealing with lower back issues during and after pregnancy. After teaching English to adults for 20 years, Moni decided to combine her passions for teaching and yoga and completed her 200-Hour Teacher Training at Whole Life Yoga. She is registered with Yoga Alliance, and she completed the Pre/Postnatal Teacher Training with 8 Limbs Yoga in Seattle.
