Niaja is a yin yoga instructor passionate about creating nurturing spaces for mothers through mindful movement, breathwork, and restorative care. Her approach to yin yoga emphasizes nervous system regulation, deep rest, fascia release, grounding, and embodiment throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and daily life. Through gentle movement, guided rest, hip-opening postures, breath awareness, and nervous system support. She supports mothers in cultivating deeper trust in their bodies by helping them to slow down and tune inward as she intentionally creates moments to connect with themselves and bond with their babies.
Certified in 2023, Niaja has integrated yin, breathwork, meditation, and restorative care into her full spectrum doula practice. Supporting clients throughout preconception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Niaja is trained in childbirth education, lactation support, and trauma-informed pelvic floor therapy. A proud graduate of Howard University with a Master’s in Maternal and Infant Health, she is currently on the path to becoming a naturopathic doctor and midwife. She is committed to deepening her knowledge and skills to provide equitable access to holistic, inclusive, culturally attuned, and community-centered care. Beyond birth work, Niaja is a land steward, community garden coordinator, and herbalist blending remedies for a local apothecary. She weaves together the healing arts of plant medicine, movement, education, and community care.
